Chef Amit Cohen does an excellent job of reproducing the authentic flavors of Italy in the heart of Israel.

The name of the restaurant, Oshpalao, is also the name of the classic Bukharan dish, consisting of rice, meat, and chickpeas.

We left Goldy’s, but not before Yitshak had thrust a huge bag of takeaway food into our hands, which meant I had a wonderful Friday not spent in the kitchen for a change. 

It was a lovely evening. And if the proprietors can solve the personnel problem – we were told they find it very difficult to get staff – they will be doing themselves a great favor.

The restaurant has been open for just over a year and is already very popular with the locals.

On a recent visit, we ordered the Omakase, a tasting menu with nine different dishes, to get an idea of what Dashi is all about.

We very much enjoyed our experience at Shulchan David and can recommend a visit with total confidence. Great for families with children, too.

The brains behind Salon Yevani, situated in the Daniel Hotel in Herzliya Pituah, belong to renowned chef Guy Peretz, so we knew the food would be creative and inspired.
