Erin becomes a Category 5 hurricane, NHC says storm is 285 km northeast of Puerto Rico

Hurricane Erin is about 250 miles (400 km) east-northeast of Anguilla with maximum sustained winds of 100 mph (160 kmph), the Miami-based forecaster said.
